Bookmarks solved! (For me)
Many months ago I asked around about bookmark solutions. People went straight to things like Pocket and Instapaper, but that wasn't at all what I meant. My question wasn't about saving articles to read later (I use Raindrop for this btw), but links for cool stuff, browser games, reference links etc.
I first tried using Raindrop.io itself for that but didn't love it. This tool is very text-focused and I quickly got lost with what was and what wasn't reading material among tags. Then I tried booky.io. I used it for a few months, but it wasn't very practical either -- I ended up just hoarding and never looking at the links lists I created, and it wasn't great to access it on my phone (it kept logging me off too). And then I finally found The One For Me™ -- I don't even remember where I saw it! But it's Start.me and I couldn't be happier with it. I imported everything I had on booky.io and slowly moved a few bookmark lists from Listography to Start.me and it's looking lovely.
I guess this one works better for me than, say, booky.io and other "simple lists/folders" tools because I can play around with the look and feel of the page, and as an ADHDer, that makes me want to go back and edit this or that and make it ~ pretty ~. And I really wanted something I could actually share with people, and booky.io only allows that on a paid account. Listography was almost perfect: it was public (I could share with others), I could make it ~ pretty ~, I would look at it constantly... but because there's no extension or easy way to add a link to a list (only manually, writing their wacky markdown), I would postpone doing it for forever (another lovely ADHD trait).

I'm using the free version and it's already a full package, which I really appreciate. I've set up two "pages"--one private and the other public--and for the past two months or so have been organizing my bookmarks over there. My public bookmarks page is called The Dump Site, where I save mainly online tools, gaming and indie web resources and communities. I decided to make this one public because I thought it might be useful for other people as well.
So this is my personal pick for a bookmarks manager, I hope I can help someone as fidgety as me organize (and use!) theirs.
See you on the next one!
