Cat trip
Yes, cat trip, not cat nip.
Last Sunday (28), I took a plane with a kitty that isn't mine to her new home in Brasília. Am spending the week here; there isn't a lot to do but it's a good respite and the weather at night is cooler, which I enjoy. I love night walking.
Kitty is the sweetest girl and got attached to me, which I am loving. She keeps demanding to sleep with me. She's so cute. She was one of the bottle babies I helped with earlier this year (first pic).

Took the opportunity that I'm here and went to have some good shawarma. In my hometown there's only one Arab restaurant (and a Syrian dude at a crafts fair), and I love middle eastern foods. Unfortunately I won't be doing a food tour cause ain't nobody got money for that.
In the second night we walked around the neighborhood. It's a satellite town (thank god) so it looks mostly like a normal Brazilian city, not the abomination that is Brasília itself.
I love having a room all to myself. There's a nice floor to ceiling window with an amazing cityscape view. I enjoy it a lot.
I'm really happy for my friend (whose cat I brought here). She's been dealt a rough hand in life but slowly and steadily has been improving her life. Tripling her salary and moving from a cramped kitchenette that she shared with her hoarder mom, boyfriend, and three cats to a two bedroom apt in a fancy ass condo with no clutter is... Amazing. Heartwarming. It makes my heart burst with happiness seeing her happiness and achievement. It's been years of her studying as best as she could while caring for her sick mom, studying throughout a masters and a doctorate program AND being an awesome friend and cat mom.
I love her very very much and I'm SO proud of her. She accomplished all of that without any golden parachute or generational wealth. No one to help her with utilities or her mom's hospital bills or anything. Girl is a fucking QUEEN.
Despite having boarded that plane with a cold, a migraine and crippling depression telling me I should be in bed, I'd do it again for her and her kitties.
And THEN
Another friend who's from Brasília (but is living in China atm) gifted me her old 3DS XL with half a dozen cartridge games and I'm just?????? Completely speechless.

These are SO expensive in Brazil. I've never had one in my entire life. I told her to sell it online for good money, or that I'd buy from her after I got my debts all paid off... But she got her mom to come here and drop off the console and I'm still flabbergasted. I wish I could give her an awesome gift like that but I only got negative numbers on my bank account atm... and for the foreseable future.
So yeah. It's been a trip, alright. Still got the rest of the week here. I don't plan on doing a lot of touristy stuff (I've lived here many years ago and also am broke af), and I'm happy to help with the cats' adaptation process. The older cat is having a rougher time and I've been keeping an eye on him and organizing his home base. But honestly, being able to walk around during a chilly night, having this nice cityscape to look at and a little kitty glued to my side is fun enough for me.
For once, can't complain.
