Using and Defaults in early 2025

Curious about what a middle class latin american girlie can afford in this economy? What this average person uses to try and make her life a little better and a little easier? Fear not, I have the answers for you right here!

I've decided to write up a post rather than a page because I want to see how this changes a year from now. I'm in the process of migrating a lot of stuff, so this is also a way to compare it to the future.

Before you dive in, I've got a few disclaimers: I'm self-employed, working from home as a translator/copyeditor in publishing and as an interpreter in online and in-person conferences. I need to have a portable work set up that I can take with me to the interpreting booth. I also happen to have ADHD, so having a "travel set" is a must. If I only had the one keyboard, the one mouse, the one headset etc trust and believe, I'd either forget to take something with me or lose it altogether (I somehow managed both in the past).

I also need to have several back-up headphones/mics because if I don't, I can lose my income when something breaks or doesn't work properly. There's also stuff I wouldn't have bothered with if it weren't for work (eg. the mic and webcam), so have that in mind when perusing these lists.

  2. I do happen to have a keyboard collection, but NOT the fancy mechanical keebs type, just old keyboards from the past.

  3. Brazil's government uses it, restaurants and doctors' offices use it, my family uses it... therefore I use it.
