Games I've played so far on the 3DS
I recently talked about how I got a 3DS XL from a friend, and I've been playing a bunch of games there, testing out the little guy, trying to discover what I'm really into. Before my Nintendo Switch from 2022, I'd never owned (or frankly played) a gaming console, so it's all news to me. There are literally thousands of titles playable on the 3DS, and probably a few hundred that are interesting to me personally, but as the internet saying goes, ain't nobody got time for that.
So here's a list of the games I've tried so far. Most of these I've played for about ~1h, so I haven't gone far in none of them. I'm literally test-driving them, looking for a True Obsession for my ADHD brain. FYI, after this post, the list will be only updated on my Listography.
So here we go:
Super Mario 3D Land. The only title on this list that I've played for wellll over 1h. It's so fun and cute and easy enough for my addled brain.
Animal Crossing: New Leaf. Very cute! I enjoyed the art style and the idea of being an 'accidental mayor', I'm intrigued by the story.

Animal Crossing: Wild World. Surprised by how this is basically an indenture servitude simulator. Crazy set up for this game, y'all.
Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer. As a builder on The Sims, I thought I'd like this more than I did.
Tomodatchi Life. Really low-effort gameplay, I like to boot it when my brain is in short-circuit. Not super engaging tbh, but easy enough to have me keep playing it. It's really cute seeing the lil guys doing stuff in their apts by themselves, but I'm pretty upset I can't have gays. :(((
Cooking Mama 5. I mean, a classic, what's not to love? I'd played Cooking Mama via the Apple Arcade and another instance of the game via an emulator. Pretty nice to boot when you're watching the news, to counter balance the dread.
Zombies Ate My Neighbors. This one I'm loving, it's so cute and easy to follow. Love the creepy vibes! Wish I could play with a friend; it's a hero duo after all. :')
Zelda: Ocarina of Time. This one came with the 3DS. I've never played Zelda before. So I'm pretty slow on it, but it looks so beautiful and interesting!!
Pokémon Y. Another one that came with the 3DS. It's not really my style of game but I did start playing it for a bit. Not very engaging to me.
Tamagotchi Connection: Corner Shop 3. The mini games gameplay is kind of repetitive, tbh. I'll stick to other stuff.
Magician's Quest: Mysterious Times. The story sounded pretty interesting and the graphics are pretty cute, I wanna play this one through.
Digimon World DS. I played this one for like ~2h and then DELETED my save like the dumbass that I am, so I'm emotionally recovering. I'll pick it back up eventually, the graphics are so cute and Digimon was my obsession as a kid.
Sailor Moon: La Luna Splende. This one's a doozy. Arguably the most beautiful pixel graphics game on this list, but I could only find it in Italian. Which isn't a deal breaker, I can follow the story pretty well with my Portuguese/Spanish stitching the Italian together for comprehension.
Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of the Sky. Girls I love this one so much 🥹, so fun and cute and mysterious. Lovely. Def playing this one through, tho I suck at dungeons.
Pokémon Rangers: Shadows of Almia. I'm having a blast! Very simple and fun to play, I'm intrigued with the story.
The Sims 3: Pets. Spent a good time making my sim, cat and dog. Twas fun. Also the controllers surprised me, as in--they were easy and understandable enough. I'll say though, not great for builders (which is what I am).
Magic Knight Rayearth (1995). It's so similar to the anime/manga it borderlines on boring lol, but it's SO CUTE and as a huge MKR fan, it was one of the first games I loaded on the 3DS. Sue me.
Hotel Dusk: Room 215. Oh. My. God. I am OBSESSED. Using the lil stylus to take real notes about the hints on the game? Using the 3DS sideways like a freaking notebook??? I AM STOKED.
