New faves: fonts, apps, software
This is just a quick list of my most recent faves, as I've realized I'm using a bunch of new things recently. Nothing new on my phone (iOS), but plenty of new discoveries for Linux and the Boox Palma. Enjoy!
Fonts
For the longest time I used Pixel Operator and Illusion Book everywhere I could. When I switched to Kubuntu, the first thing I did was apply Pixel Operator for the whole entire OS. I think I obsessed over it for well over a year. And more recently, I apparently made the unconscious shift to Maple Mono. I am in love with the Light Italic variant btw. Now she's the queen of my Kingdom Kubuntu.
Softwares
With a new OS comes new software, of course. I've been using Tauon, Halftone, Blanket and Frog all. The. Time.
They're all the littlest, simplest of things, but they just work and I love them. The combo Tauon + Blanket + a Ghibli landscape gif as my wallpaper is enough to put me in a chill vibe to update my analog planner and organize my desk. I almost don't miss Mini Cozy Room. Almost.
E-Reader
Of course this list wouldn't be complete without the star that my Boox Palma is (yes, also using Maple Mono there too). I haven't touched my old Kindle since I got the Palma; it's tucked in a drawer in case something awful happens. I can't be without an ereader at hand.
Phone apps
The flesh is weak and I downloaded a game onto my Boox Palma -- CatLife. And you know what? It's fun. In moderation. I added all of my cats and my sister's cats names to the game and I'm just giggling alone when I play.
I've talked about this one before, but I have to include it here: Feeder's been great on the Palma, and I wish it was also available for iOS.
I also find myself using A Soft Murmur to read. It's great to set the mood when reading Discworld adventures if you ask me, at least for the witches books. The free version's been enough for me, as I have no intention of subscribing to yet another service. Single purchase, sure. Subscription? No, thank you.
