fig. | Late winter bloom
Winter isnt what it used to be. We haven’t felt a good cold wind in weeks and it isnt even September… But the trees are blooming.

fig. | Firefly earrings
Got these from my madrinha today. Real cute firefly earrings, can't remember the last time I bought bijus for myself. She got me other hoop earrings as well, mine were all rusty and old. Not real gold or anything, of course.
Am happy.

fig. | Power outage
From 10AM to almost 10PM today, we had a power outage. A lightining strike on a nearby post, and it took the newly privatized power company 8 hours to get here and take a look… This world is great.

fig. | Days in the life
Making an effort to remember there was some joy that was had. Even if just a little.

fig. | 2009 calculator mouse
Found this one inside a drawer in one of auntie’s home. She said I could have it, so here we are now. I put on new batteries, found a manual in Spanish on the internet and got it working as both a calculator and a numpad. Pretty dope! Sadly the cursor gets kind of laggy with it.
Regardless I'm taking it home with me.

fig. | Cats cats cats
I'm missing my cats SO MUCH... Idk what it is. Last year I spent 3 months here at my auntie's and I didn't feel like that... Maybe it's the notion that I don't really know anymore what's gonna happen.

fig. | Light Selfie
Feeling like a pos, frozen in task initiation paralysis, might as well post a selfie to go along with it.
-
fig. | Evening thoughts
Evenings at the temporary home office. I really love my auntie's home library. I love that I was born in a family of book lovers who also aren't complete bigots. Not to say they're the most progressive, but almost all are good people willing to learn. I'm so lucky.
I miss my cats and my partner and my city, but there are comforts here as well. To have ties in very different places is to be forever torn between them. You can feel like you have two homes and none at all at the same time.

fig. | Boox Palma Daily Drive
Loving my Boox Palma, y’all! Been using it every day for a few weeks now and tried all sorts of things in it. I bought it second hand, but it came in mint condition and working perfectly.
The Palma fits in my planner’s pouch, so I can take it with me any and everywhere. It’s also great for nighttime reading. I use BookFusion as my main ebook reader, though I did try out its native one, the NeoReader; It has its pros and cons.
It’s not perfect, but it’s more than enough for me. The reading experience is excellent overall.
I do have something to say about the RSS Reader and other stuff… Maybe I’ll post more about it later.

fig. | Hair salon visit
Went to a hair salon today. First time in... Idk how many years. Four maybe? Way before the pandemic I was already cutting my own hair, and the last time I risked going to one, I was not happy with the end result. But this one was good. I love how it came out! The vibes of the place are also correct. A salon specialized in curls would be a great place, of course.

fig. | amo minha agenda
Sou muito resistente à autoficção e à não ficção criativa. Quase tudo que li nesses gêneros é brega, óbvio e chato. Mas aí tem os textos nas agendas da Todavia.

fig. | living in silent hill?
A friend said I'm staying in Silent Hill bc of the constant mist... What can I say, it's winter here. I'm a girlie from the tropics and this is pure novelty to me; I enjoy it.

fig. | I love my Switch
I love my Nintendo Switch! I've never had a console before in my life, let alone a handheld. My family could never afford these things when I was a kid. So I guess that's why I just got into gaming well after my 30s, in the pandemic years, when I had more disposable income... which is also why I suck... but that doesn't stop me from enjoying playing video games on my Switch.
