Forcing myself to write this
I've been on a reallll funk lately. Lost half my antidepressant prescription, so I've been taking only 2/3 of the dosage I need; ADHD's been kicking my butt hard, and I just... don't feel like blogging. I've been meaning to write something here for ten days, and nothing. I kept thinking: I got stuff to share, I did little things here and there, found cool links around the internet, got back into audiobooks... It's not like I've been exclusively bedrotting (though that has indeed taken a good chunk of my time), but I just don't feel like sharing.
Which may sound harmless to you, but that is a problem I've had my whole entire life. I just... don't share what I'm doing/what I'm into with the people around me. I simply don't know why, and I've had family members, partner and friends tell me how that made them feel sort of hurt, like I don't trust them or don't care enough to share anything.
You know that meme of the person who won't shut up about their favorite thing even though ppl may not be interested? I'm the opposite: I don't talk even when ppl want me to. Even when maybe I want to.
So. Forcing myself to share. Here we go. I'm doing it whether I want it or not. I've also found that afterwards, I do feel good, not bad. So. Yeah, I'm insane, I know.
IRL news
I got a tamagotchi virtual pet!
Yes I am including a vpet on IRL news, fight me After months of wishing and researching, I finally got myself a lil guy. At first I did think about getting a Tamagotchi but those things are super expensive, so my bank account said no bitch be realistic!, and I got a Punirunes vpet!
It's cute and fun and I love the sounds and the silly little things I have to do to care for it. It's also pretty cheap, though it is battery-powered and it kind of drained them super quickly! I'll be getting rechargeable ones later on.
Cat scared me half to death
My eldest, Jon Snow (m, 12), managed to burst one of his peri-anal glands or whatever it's called and I had to rush to the vet clinic with his butt covered in blood and foul-smelling fluid. He's all healed now though, we say he's back to having one butthole. Thank god I'd paid for a healthcare plan for him and his brother (who also went to the vet this month).

Pictured: Jon Snow, one-buttholed.
Forró night
It seems like last weekend's forró was my last outing of the year (money is pretty tight). A friend was going to play with her band (she plays the rabeca) and she lives in another state, so we have to make the most of it when she comes here.
I always feel a little awkward on forrós bc I don't dance, but I do love the music.

Early night pic so I don't give away ppl's faces.
Getting back into audiobooks
Ever since I finished Absolution by Jeff Vandermeer I haven't been able to pick up a new book to read. I try not to beat myself too much about it, but after a few months... Yeah, it's hard to not feel bad. I subscribed to Everand's free trial and I'm trying to listen to as many audiobooks as possible while the trial lasts (can't pay for any other subscriptions right now!). So far I've listened to:
- The City Born Great by N. K. Jemisin
- How to Keep House While Drowning by K.C. Davis
- The City of Brass by S. A. Chakraborty (ongoing)
- The City We Became by N. K. Jemisin (ongoing)
Typing "city" on the search bar of the app may or may not have influenced this list.
Internet & Computer stuff
Finally, Linux
I've installed Kubuntu on my main machine. It looks pretty cute now that I've pixelated its look (pixel icons, animated pixel background, pixel clock, pixel everything), and I've been enjoying it now that I've set it up with (mostly) everything I need. It just sucks that all my cloud services don't have a native Linux app, so I gotta deal with command lines workarounds and let me tell you, as a person whose coding abilities stop at CSS, it is STRESSY.
One of the weird side effects it had on me was making me download music for the first time in maybe a decade. Actually enjoying it a lot, you know. Having my faves just available, no internet or streaming needed.
No dithering on this one!
Downloading music & art
I hyperfixated in downloading pixel art stuff to decorate my desktop. So there I went to DeviantArt and ArtStation, bc honestly Pinterest became a sea of AI slop and I don't wanna drown in it.
So take a look at some of fave pieces on DA and AS. I do have awesome taste. Not a brag, just a fact.
Also downloading albums from yams bc it's sometimes hard to find Brazilian music in regular download sites... and also maybe because I don't remember anymore where to download stuff. I still gotta figure out how to download my playlists from Apple Music. And I found a pretty awesome ambient music artist: OSC on Bandcamp. As soon as I get disposable income, they will be getting some money. Fun fact: I found them while browsing Archive.org for OST!
